A VISIT FROM THE SCOTTISH PARLIAMENT PRESIDING OFFICER

Sabhal Mòr Ostaig enjoyed a visit from Alex Fergusson, the Scottish Parliament’s Presiding Officer whilst he was on his summer tour of Scotland.

The Presiding Officer couldn’t visit the College without learning a little Gàidhlig, and took part in a Gaelic class when he learned to say words of welcome in the language. By all accounts he did very well and both students and tutor were very impressed.

The Officer also took the opportunity to tour the new building, Fàs, the centre for Creative and Cultural Industries where he was introduced to many of the College’s additional projects. He then had lunch with staff and students and chatted informally about the college.

Once his morning at Sabhal Mòr was complete Mr Fergusson continued on the second part of his tour where he made his way to Inverness.
