MINIBUS KEEPS COLLEGE ON THE MOVE

Students and officials of Sabhal Mor Ostaig, Scotland's only Gaelic college, were presented with a seventeen-seat minibus by Calor Alba (Scotland).

The presentation of the Leyland Daf, which has been converted to run on environmentally and economically friendly LPG, is part of Calor's continuing support of the College.

Speaking at the presentation, College Director, Dr Norman Gillies said,

"We are incredibly grateful to Calor Alba for the generosity it has shown Sabhal Mor Ostaig.

"Having our own transport is of course crucial to us and it is particularly pleasing that Calor Alba have provided us with a sponsored LPG vehicle which fits well with our 'green agenda' whilst at the same time making considerable savings on running costs. Already the diary for the bus is full up, as staff and students take advantage of it for trips and excursions throughout the summer months."

Calor (Alba) has a long association with Sabhal Mor Ostaig and, in 2003, donated the state-of-the-art Amharclann Calor Alba (amphitheatre), which has become an attractive and functional landmark, performance space and meeting area used by the whole community.

I have no doubt it will become a useful and valuable asset to both the college and wider community."
