FUNDRAISING DINNER FOR HOPE AND FAITH SCHOOL A GREAT SUCCESS

A fundraising dinner was held on Friday 5th September at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig for the benefit of the Hope & Faith School in Lusaka, Zambia. Over £1,400 was raised at the dinner and a further £1,100 received in donations. Thanks are due to the food suppliers who donated all the food free of charge so that all the money raised will go direct to the school. The Headmistress of Hope & Faith School, Rosemary Mumbi, attended the dinner last year and we are sure that she will put the money raised to very good use.

College Director, Professor Norman N Gillies said: “We are proud of the sterling efforts of our kitchen staff, under the leadership of Alison Campbell and Denis Woodtli, in organising such a successful dinner. We had a brilliant evening of good food with music provided by Liondsaidh Mitchell and Hugh Cheape. Our thanks are due to the sponsors of our menu – Brakes, Williamson, Inverness Framers, 3663, Fearann Eilean Iarmain, Clan Donald Lands Trust - and to all who gave so generously to our fundraising efforts.

Norman and his wife Jean will visit the school next week when they will be travelling to Zambia and on to South Africa.
