PROMOTING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE!

Sabhal Mòr Ostaig has recently registered with SHAW (Scotland's Health at Work) and is working towards the Bronze Award. As part of this scheme we will be promoting a healthier lifestyle amongst staff.

Each month we will be disseminating information on topics such as smoking, exercise, healthy eating, stress and alcohol. We also hope to organise activities such as workshops/seminars, competitions, charity walks etc etc. A small working group has been set up to facilitate SHAW and we would welcome anyone with enthusiasm and ideas to get involved.

This week there will be an information table situated in the Atrium at Arainn Chaluim Chille where you can get copies of healthy recipes and pick up some of the information booklets.

Saturday morning aerobics classes at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels will be starting in September. The classes will be open to all members of staff and the local community (male and female). Classes will cost £3 will special discounts available for regulars. If you or your friends are interested in coming along please sign up at the SHAW information board at ACC or email sm00ani@groupwise.uhi.ac.uk.
